10108 DE Underwriter - Melville, NY / Cincinnati, Ohio
 
The DE Underwriter will modify and approve initial stipulations from Underwriting Assistants. File appraisals, analyze data that was ordered by the Underwriting Assistants; Review loan files to insure they meet guidelines to approve loan files to proceed to closing.
 
Essential Job Functions:
  • Underwrite FHA, VA, Fannie, Freddie, USDA
  • Review initial stipulations as assigned by supervisor
  • Review data provided by 4506T and Data Verify to ensure compliance and accuracy
  • Approve outstanding stipulations as they arrive and apply to appropriate files
  • Ensure files are completed in a timely manner
  • Ensure all files, stipulations and documents meet federal and state guidelines as well as FHA and/or conventional guidelines
Requirements:
  • Must have a valid CHUMS #
  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Five years of mortgage industry experience
  • Knowledge of federal and state guidelines as they relate to the mortgage industry
  • Strong analytical abilities
  • Possession of strong organizational skills
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs

10110 Collateral Review Specialist - Melville, NY
 
Responsible for assisting Underwriting with determining acceptability of collateral, compliance to seller's guides and to determine if appraisal and collateral are acceptable.
 
Essential Job Functions:
  • Review appraisals and exhibits (i.e.; sketches and photos) and comment on the reliability of the appraisal report and value as well as to ascertain if the subject property is eligible for lending.
  • Make requests for appraisal corrections, revisions or further explanations from appraisal vendors on issues of concern.
  • Determine if we can proceed with appraisal, whether or not another product (i.e.; desk review) is needed or if we cannot proceed with collateral.
  • Research the subject property for prior listings, additional information from the internet and/or assessment data.
  • Place orders for AVM's and appraisals.
  • Duties may include condo project review and approval at directed by Collateral Manager.
Requirements:
  • Must be a state Licensed or Certified Residential Real Estate Appraiser or equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years real estate appraisal experience with minimum 1 year of appraisal review background.
  • Working knowledge of real estate and appraisal industry and standards.
  • Understanding of USPAP as well as GSE and HUD guidelines.
  • Competent PC skills.
  • Proficient reading and writing aptitude.
  • Ability to understand titles, deeds, surveys, purchase contracts and other such real estate related documents with at least a basic comprehension.

The Closing Coordinator will complete initial disclosures, final disclosures, and all closing, funding, and post closing functions.
 
Essential Job Functions
  • Complete initial disclosures and final disclosures
  • Rate lock “Good Faith Estimates”
  • Ensure compliance once the loan application has been established
  • Send out final information about loan to borrower prior to closing the loan, ensuring compliance
  • Closings
  • Creating documents and calculating escrows and send to settlement agent in a timely manner
  • Post closing, reviewing all packages for accuracy and compliance
  • Funding to settlement agents
  • Creating shipping packages to send out to investors and HUD
Requirements

10116 Underwriting Assistant - Melville, NY
 
The Underwriting Assistant will be responsible for the initial review of all loan files received from the sales department. Add preliminary condition of files; ensure that they meet the general guidelines as set forth by FHA, HUD, federal and state guidelines.
 
Essential Functions:
  • Run and review ancillary reports
  • Assist in determining property value, borrowers identification, and income accuracy
  • Confirm proper disclosure; meeting federal and state guidelines
  • Preliminary review of new files; identify outstanding issues needed to meet both the company and investor guidelines
  • Data Verify; borrower identification, market value of property, determine if borrower has multi properties that were not disclosed on initial application, regional viability of property
  • Verify employment, and income of borrower
  • Order TALX or 4506T to confirm income of borrower
  • Conduct a desk review of the initial Data Verify if it does not confirm value
  • Dialogue file; informing sales and assigned DE Underwriter of status and pertinent details of files
  • Provide a narrative of the next steps needed in the underwriting process
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Some college preferred
  • A minimum of two years of experience with conforming or FHA loans
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs
  • Detail oriented a must
  • Strong analytical abilities
